Frequently Asked Questions
Commission Process
How long does it take to finish a painting?
The time it takes to complete a piece can vary, typically ranging from two weeks to several months, depending on the size and complexity of the work. Additionally, since oil paint requires time to dry, the drying process can take anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks, depending on the thickness of the paint and the mediums used, to ensure it’s fully dry and ready for safe shipping.
What can I commission?
You can commission original artwork in oil paint, oil pastels, or color pencil. I focus on contemporary scenes, everyday life, interiors, portraits, and still life. If you have a specific concept, reference, or mood in mind, feel free to share it; I’ll work with you to bring it to life while staying true to my creative approach. However, please keep in mind that the style of the painting will always reflect my personal artistic approach. Custom prints can’t be made directly; the painting must first be created, then photographed to produce a print.
Do you sign your artwork?
Yes, I sign my artwork directly on the back of the piece, using the same medium as the artwork itself (for example, an oil painting will be signed with oil paint).
Do you work from reference photos?
Yes, I welcome reference photos as a starting point to better understand your vision, especially for mood, subject matter, or composition. However, I don’t do exact replications of images. Each piece is interpreted through my personal style and creative process to ensure it remains an original and expressive work of art.
Pricing & Payment
What is the price of a commissioned work?
The price of a commissioned work varies depending on the size, medium, and complexity of the work. Most commissions start at $250 USD. Once I understand your concept and preferences, I’ll provide a personalized quote. If you have a budget in mind, feel free to mention it in your request. I’m happy to suggest options that work within your range.
Do you accept returns?
I do not accept returns, but if your artwork arrives damaged during transit, please contact me, and I will do my best to resolve the issue.
What payment methods do you accept for comissions?
I accept payments via Stripe through a custom payment link. Once we finalize your commission details, I’ll send a secure link for payment. You’ll receive an automatic receipt via email after the transaction is completed.
Do you offer payment plans?
I don’t offer payment plans at this time. To begin a commission, I require a 50% upfront payment, with the remaining 50% due once the painting is completed and ready to ship. This ensures a smooth process for both of us.
How long does shipping take for prints?
For deliveries within Mexico, production usually takes about one week, followed by approximately one week for shipping. This means you can expect your order to arrive in around two weeks total. We’ll also send you tracking information once your print has shipped so you can stay updated.
Shipping &Delivery
How is shipping calculated?
Shipping is calculated separately based on your location, the size of the artwork, and the packaging required. I ship from Mexico, and all packages include a tracking number. Once your commission is complete and ready to ship, I’ll provide a final shipping quote, which will be added to your final payment.
Do you ship internationally?
International shipping is currently available for prints only. If you’re located outside of Mexico or the United States and are interested in purchasing an original oil painting, please reach out through my contact details.
Is shipping included in the commission price?
No, shipping is not included in the commission price. Shipping costs are calculated separately and will be added to the final payment based on your location and the size of the artwork.
Can I track my order after purchase?
Yes, the tracking number is provided upon shipping.
Prints
What is a giclée print?
Giclée prints are made using high-resolution digital printers with pigment-based inks, which produce exceptionally rich colors, fine details, and smooth gradients. They’re commonly used to reproduce work at gallery or museum quality.
What makes a giclée print different from a regular print?
A giclée print is a museum-quality art reproduction made with high-resolution inkjet printers, archival pigment-based inks, and acid-free fine art paper or canvas. Unlike standard prints, giclées offer superior color accuracy, detail, and longevity—lasting up to 100 years with proper care.
How do I care for my giclée print?
To care for your giclée print, keep it out of direct sunlight and away from areas with high humidity or temperature fluctuations, such as bathrooms or kitchens. Framing your print behind UV-protective glass or acrylic helps prevent fading and damage from light exposure. With proper care, your giclée print can maintain its vibrant colors and detail for many decades.
